Known for his policy of religious tolerance (Sulh-i-kul) and the efficient Mansabdari administrative system. He expanded the empire across North and Central India.
Under Shah Jahan, Mughal architecture reached its peak. He built the Taj Mahal, Red Fort, and Jama Masjid, using white marble and intricate Pietra Dura work.
The last of the "Great Mughals." While the empire reached its maximum territorial extent under him, constant wars and the rise of Marathas/Sikhs eventually led to its fragmentation.
